Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the THOTH mobile game and its website features (the "App"), provided by TAO STUDIO LLC ("we", "us" or "our"). By downloading or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. The App

THOTH is a quiz game in which you recognise famous people from their portraits. We may add, change or remove people, features, rewards and game modes at any time. Some features need an internet connection.

2. Your Account

• You can play as a guest or sign in with Apple or Google so your progress is kept across devices. You are responsible for activity on your account.
• Usernames and avatars must not impersonate others or be offensive, hateful or unlawful. We may change or remove a username that breaks this rule.
• You can delete your account at any time from your profile in the App, or by emailing [email protected]. See our Privacy Policy for what is deleted.

3. Coins, Lives, Hints and Other Virtual Items

Coins, lives, hints, cards and other in-game items are a limited licence to use them inside the App. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money or transferred, and are not refundable except where the law or the store's refund policy requires it. We may adjust how items are earned, priced or used.

4. THOTH Pass Subscription

• What it includes: unlimited lives, a daily allowance of coins and hints, and no banner or interstitial ads, as described in the App at the time of purchase.
• Plans and price: THOTH Pass is offered as a monthly or yearly auto-renewable subscription. The price in your currency is shown in the App before you confirm.
• Payment and renewal: payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation. The subscription renews automatically at the same price unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
• Cancelling: manage or cancel at any time in your device's subscription settings (App Store: Settings > your name > Subscriptions; Google Play: Payments & subscriptions). Cancelling stops the next renewal; the current period stays active until it ends. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
• Restore: if you reinstall the App or change devices, use Restore Purchases in the Market.

If you use the App on an Apple device, the Apple Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. Where it conflicts with these Terms, the Apple agreement governs your use of the App on Apple devices.

5. Advertising

The free version of the App shows ads provided by third parties. Ad choices and consent are explained in our Privacy Policy and can be changed in the App.

6. Fair Play

Do not cheat, use bots or modified clients, exploit bugs, interfere with other players' duels, or try to access data or systems you are not allowed to. We may reset scores, remove rewards, or suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

7. Content and Intellectual Property

The App, its design, illustrations, texts, sounds and the THOTH name and logo belong to TAO STUDIO LLC or its licensors. Portrait photographs of the people in the game are public-domain works or used under their licences, with credit to their authors kept in our records. You may not copy, sell or redistribute the App's content except as the law allows. People in the game are shown for their historical and cultural significance; their appearance does not mean they or their estates endorse the App.

8. Ending Your Use

You can stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms or if we stop offering the App. Sections 3, 7, 9, 10 and 11 continue to apply after that.

9. Disclaimer

The App is provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep facts, names and descriptions accurate, but we do not guarantee that the App is error-free, uninterrupted or that every detail is complete.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the extent the law allows, TAO STUDIO LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by contract.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, unless the law of the country where you live requires otherwise.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version on this page and change the "Last Updated" date. If you keep using the App after a change, you accept the updated Terms.
